If you follow this blog, you already know we’re big fans of the Maine Audubon. Our crew loves exploring the trails at Gilsland Farm in Falmouth, paddling Scarborough marsh, and going to beautiful family events like the Peony Bloom & Ice Cream Social. For these reasons and more, we are thrilled to include the Maine Audubon among our sponsors.

Beginning this month, the Gilsland Farm location is hosting a morning preschool program for ages 2-6 called Signs of Fall. Kids and their caregivers will learn why leaves change color, investigate animals on the move, and view Monarch butterflies (to name a few). You’ll also discover monthly evening programs like Goodnight Nature, where little ones come to the Audubon in their jammies, listen to bedtime stories, and learn about the harvest moon and owls.

Kids and families of all ages will enjoy two of our favorite fall events: The Great Maine Outdoor Weekend in September and October’s Maine Apple Day Celebration., which features live music, crafts, apple pressing, and more hands-on activities.

Our family can’t wait to explore more Audubon trails together this fall. Tops on our wish list include the Mast Landing (Freeport) and Hamilton (West Bath) sanctuaries, and the East Point sanctuary in Biddeford Pool.
